STEPHANIE BERGWINKL

Stephanie (she/her) is a visual artist from Germany, currently living in Linz, Austria.

Her work includes documentaries, experimental videos, and interactive performances in which she creates a dialogue with the visitor, often based on a game of chance.

In her films she mixes personal, intimate experiences with fictional narratives and likes to combine different styles of analog and digital recording media. She experiments with color and shape schemes.

She is concerned with revealing the hidden, visualizing the inner, and processing pain. She tests the boundaries between truth and fiction. The confrontation with self-perception and the perception of others aka the art of seeing (and not seeing).

Her films have been nominated for the German Human rights film prize (category: Non-Professionel) and screened at film and media art festivals.
